Prairie Legal Services believes in transparent pricing and dispelling the practice of law firm secrecy around pricing. Our pricing is up front with no hidden charges such as file opening fees, document fees, or maintenance fees. We believe these fees are unreasonable and unjustified. You will find pricing in many of the practice areas of our site.
Hourly Rate Pricing
Prairie Legal Services offers several services that are priced by “billable hours”. Our hourly rate is $250 an hour plus taxes and disbursements for these services. This does not always mean your bill will be calculated by every billable hour. Prairie Legal Services endeavours to provide pricing that is fair and honest for work performed.
Many lawyers in major firms have very high billable rates which add up quickly. In these instances you may pay more for a name or years of practice for services that are not justifiably worth more. At Prairie Legal Services our fees are based on a combination of reasonable value, experience, actual work performed, and market competition.
Flat Rate Pricing
Some of the legal services we offer are generally predictable in nature. Where this is the case we price by flat rate rather than billable hours. Some of our services eligible for flat rate billing are Wills & Powers of Attorney, Residential Real Estate, Notary Public services, and Spousal & Cohabitation Agreements.
